What is BIM ?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process that begins with the creation of an intelligent 3D model and enables collaboration, communication, and simulation during the entire development phase of a project i.e. plan, design, build, operation, and maintenance. BIM, is slowly being adapted in India for project design and construction in big, complex projects. However, there’s more to BIM than just 3D models.
A BIM is an information-rich collection of data that can be accessed and collaborated on by different shareholders, from the architects, structural engineers to contractors, construction engineers, and owners. The implementation of BIM can save time and money, provide realistic models at every step of a project’s development phase.
